Doctor Blade Materials

Printers have experienced significant benefits when using steel materials on ceramic rolls & plastic or composite materials on chrome rolls. A steel
beveled edge that is honed or super honed provides excellent metering on ceramic as long as the blades are mounted correctly in the holder, used
at the proper angle with the reverse angle facing away from the roller axis, applied with minimal pressure & replaced when worn. Improper Dr. blade
usage will result in poor metering and will most likely permanently damage a roll leaving grind lines or significant cell wall destruction over time.
